Pupil Skills & SolosPupil SkillsThe opportunity exists within our Club to further extend a participant's skills through the Australian Calisthenics Federation's Pupil Skills Program (also known as Levels). Levels are taken by our qualified level one coach Rachael Hopes. Those aged 7 and over can participate in this program. They learn a set syllabus at extra weekly classes prior to sitting an exam, which usually takes place in May/June and November/December. Levels work is a perfect opportunity for participants to improve their Calisthenic ability and help them achieve their personal best. We encourage parents/guardians to attend the levels classes so they can help their child practice at home. The particpnats are examined in pairs, often with a child from another club. Pupil skills are also a prerequisite to be eligible to compete in Calisthenic Solo and Duo competitions and to enrol into the Cadet-training course. Solos and DuosThe opportunity exists for those who have achieved a certain Pupil Skill Level to compete in Solo Competitions. As the word implies, Solos are performed alone on stage, while two participants perform Duos. Children over the age of 8 may compete in a Calisthenic Solo, comprising elements of freearm, dance and flex work. Children over the age of 11 may compete in a Graceful Solo, comprising elements of dance and aesthetics. Both Pupil Skills and Solos/Duos are an extra cost. |
